Welcome to our little slice of the world wide web!

We are two life-long collectors of obsessions and skills of all types. Our people are the "hobby hoarders", the "productive procrastinators", and the "DIY dilettantes"!

"Functionally Frivolous" is a nod to all the amazing things that can be found and made in this world who's only real purpose is to make life a little more interesting. Not everything has to be serious or "important", and in fact some of the best things are not. Our dream is to make those things, and now to share them with you here through blog posts and our store.

Any and all products for sale here are born or inspired from our own previous projects. While the bar for taking on a new project or hobby is virtually non-existent, not all can make the cut to be documented and shared, and even fewer will ever become worthy of selling. The vast majority of our DIY adventures will never meet that final standard, but we hope that the few that do can become yet another, more tangible, way to share the joy and the thrill that we get from turning an idea into an object, as well as the process of learning all the ways to do just that.
